Decorating your Table

Many options are given to decorate your table. But always keep in mind that decorations must just be made of few small things which should not be in your way or hide your guest ...It must fill your table but not overload it !

Besides the tablecloth, the plates, glasses and
settings are the first "actors" for your table look...
Try to have them match one another and with the style you have chosen on your table.

All accessories like salt/pepper shakers or oil/vinegar sets can be as much decorative as useful on your table.

Knife holders, as well will be appreciated for their use, (you might love them when comes the time to remove stains from your tablecloth !).

Some small cards can be used to write the name of your guests. You can use nice card holders to display them on table or just place them on top of each water glass.

You also have options for decoration only…

You can put a few nice flowers ; but small and low for the reasons we know (see above). Choose flowers with a soft smell which won't interfere with your cooking perfumes.

You can chose to put a few candles on the table, their color should be assorted with the tablecloth and they will be displayed in candle holders. Candles will make your guests feel as tehey were celebrating and will give a special brightness to all ladies around. But don't put too many, it might become too hot !

Laguiole tableknife

Some original objects may help you to give a
special touch to your table ; for instance this wooden "knife-holder/napkin-ring" is a
decorating and usefull object...
